Essay on The Komodo Dragon

The komodo dragon is the largest living lizard on Earth. It grows to more than 10 feet (3 meters) long and can weigh as much as 365 pounds (165 kilograms). This lizard lives on the tropical island of Komodo and a few other islands of the country of Indonesia.

Komodo dragons have scaly bodies with long necks, strong claws, and sharp teeth. They often eat dead meat. Their long, forked tongues help them find dead animals several miles or kilometers away.

These lizards also hunt. They use their speed and strength to kill deer, wild pigs, and even water buffaloes. Komodo dragons have killed a few people as well. These lizards can live for 50 years.
