Will God forgive me for watching bad things?

Everybody has erred and sinned throughout their lives. As flawed human beings, we occasionally succumb to temptation and make bad decisions that we later come to regret. Watching or reading something that contradicts oneโ€™s moral principles or religious convictions is a typical challenge that many individuals encounter. This could include everything from pornography to films or television shows with graphic violence, swearing, or sexual material. Some people question if God will forgive them for watching these terrible things because of the intense guilt and shame that can follow participating in this kind of entertainment.

The solution is found in Godโ€™s unending grace, forgiveness, and mercy. The vast, unwavering love that a higher power possesses for every individual is a fundamental principle of all faiths and spiritual traditions. If there is real regret, contrition, and a serious attempt to make amends going forward, then no sin or transgression is too great to be pardoned.

The Bible is replete with examples of Godโ€™s forgiveness offered to people who have done horrible sins, even those who practice Christianity. The account of Jesus Christโ€™s crucifixion is among the most potent examples. He was ruthlessly executed even though he was innocent. However, while he was hanging on the cross, Jesus turned to face the people who were pursuing him and spoke the words, โ€œFather, pardon them; for they do not know what they are doing.โ€ This demonstrates Godโ€™s boundless forgiveness.

If shame and guilt are given the chance to develop, they may be quite harmful. They may cause people to lose faith in their own value and capacity for self-improvement, which may set them on a course toward even more destructive behavior. This is acknowledged by religions, which is why they emphasize forgivenessโ€™s capacity to regenerate.
