World Hindi Day or World Hindi Diwas
World Hindi Day, also known as Hindi Diwas, is observed annually on January 10 to honour and commemorate the significance of the Hindi language. It is observed to promote the Hindi language internationally and recognise its importance in our daily life. In addition to being one of the two official languages of India, Hindi is also an official language in Fiji, Mauritius, and Suriname. It is the fourth most widely spoken language in the world, with over 260 million native speakers.

To promote Hindi language and culture, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has established Hindi cells in Indian embassies and consulates around the world.
