Childrenโs Day Speech for Students In English
Honourable Principal, teachers, and dear friends, good morning We are all ecstatic to be here to celebrate childrenโs day. On this momentous occasion, Iโd want to deliver a speech about childrenโs day. Children become the joy of society and the home, as well as the nationโs future. We cannot disregard their participation and contribution to the lives of parents, teachers, and other related individuals throughout their entire lives. Everyone enjoys children, and without children, life would be incredibly monotonous and upsetting. They are blessed by God, and their beautiful eyes, innocent actions, and smiles win our hearts. Every year, Childrenโs Day is celebrated to honour all the children in the world.
Childrenโs Day is celebrated annually in India on November 14. This day is also known as Bal Divas, where โBalโ means โchildโ in Hindi and โdivasโ means โday.โ This day also commemorates the birthday of Indiaโs first prime minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, who was called โChacha Nehruโ or โChachajiโ by children because he had a special relationship with them and was always affectionate in their presence. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was born in Allahabad on 14 November 1889 and received his early education from private tutors at home. This is his 132nd year on earth. After he passed away in 1964, a resolution was passed to commemorate his birthday as Bal Divas or Childrenโs Day, a time when everyone can revisit the child within them, celebrate their childlike qualities, and remember the importance of maintaining them.
Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru exemplified affection for children and was always committed to working for their welfare and improvement. When a child is properly raised, it strengthens a nation. And this can be accomplished through quality education; however, a childโs first school is their home, so parents play a crucial role in laying the foundation of discipline, honesty, and sincerity; children with these traits excel in school and life and bring honour to our nation. Many of our great freedom fighters attribute their skills and abilities to their parents and teachers; similarly, one can draw inspiration from them and follow in their footsteps by affording parents and teachers equal respect, as they play a crucial role in shaping a childโs future. A child should have complete freedom to express themselves, explore their passions, and pursue their calling. Only through proper education and holistic development is this possible.
A child should be treated and cared for with the utmost kindness and affection, and because Pandit Nehru was so concerned about their welfare, numerous laws were enacted for this purpose. The Supreme Law of the Indian Constitution guarantees that all children under the age of 18 have rights. This law promotes the rights of children to be cared for by their parents or guardians, to receive an education, to consume nutritious food, and to feel safe and protected. Children with special needs are entitled to special care.
In his administration, he never lost sight of the goal of making India a global leader, which can only be accomplished by investing in the nationโs children as the nationโs future. Never did he believe in clipping the wings of young children. He stated, โTomorrowโs India will be created by the children of today.โ On Childrenโs Day, let us pledge to create a safe environment for the future of our nation and to not threaten or impede their development.
Wishing everyone a joyous Childrenโs Day.

I welcome you all to the Childrenโs Day celebration. This day is dedicated to children to honour the efforts and affection of our nationโs first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, whose 132nd birthday is celebrated today. Jawaharlal Nehru became our first Prime Minister in 1947, after India was declared an independent nation. During his 16-year reign, he consistently advocated for the safety, health, and education of children. In his early years, he received private tutoring, and he understood the significance of education and the positive outcomes it can produce.
He enjoyed spending time with children, and the children had a great deal of affection for him, referring to him as “Chacha Nehru” and “Chachaji.” He had a great vision for India, which was to make it a world leader, and he understood that this could only be accomplished if young people are nurtured from childhood onward, by allowing them the freedom to dream and providing them with basic amenities as well as the right to be protected and cared for.
Among the basic rights for children, education and health were of the utmost importance, and he ensured to enlighten others with the same philosophy. He also encouraged parents and teachers to give their children wings to fly and dream the future they want to create, and to allow room for mistakes and improvements, as these traits enable them to innovate and build a better nation. Therefore, let’s be the children of which our nation can be proud and create a brighter tomorrow for everyone. I wish you the best of luck and a joyous Children’s Day.
Thank you very much.
