Our teacher is the light of the world, the beacon in the darkness, and the hope that gives us the strength to survive. Today is Teachers’ Day. A day set aside to honour the gifted souls that work tirelessly every day to ensure that the future is bright for all of us. Let us begin by applauding all of the teachers.
Teacher’s Day is observed on the birthday of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the first Vice President and second President of independent India, born on September 5, 1888 in Tiruttani, Tamil Nadu.Teacher’s Day on his birthday is observed because Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan himself was a teacher and bestowed his blessings on everyone. He says,
“Instead of celebrating my birthday, it would be my proud privilege if 5 September is observed as Teachers’ Day.”
Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan ji stated that the future is in the hands of our children and teachers, and that if India wants to be successful, it can only be done through education, which is why Teachers’ Day is observed on September 5th to highlight the importance of teachers.
On this joyous occasion, let us take this time to express our gratitude to all of our teachers who have helped shape us.
Every year on September 5th, we commemorate Teachers Day. It is a day full with excitement, joy, and happiness as kids eagerly await the opportunity to tell their teachers why and how they are special to them. It is an honour for me to speak about our good teachers on this amazing occasion.
As Dr. Abdul Kalam would have stated, “I believe there is no other profession in the world that is more important to society than that of a teacher.”
Every year on September 5th, we mark Teachers’ Day in India. Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s birthday is commemorated on September 5th, and Teachers’ Day is observed in his honour. Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was a wonderful scholar and an exceptional teacher in addition to being a successful leader in the shape of the country’s President.
