Essay on The Saddest Day of My Life

Every personโ€™s life is a unique blend of tears and smiles, sadness and laughter, joyful celebration and mourning. Unfortunately, the tears far exceed the laughs. โ€œThe moments of happiness are uncommon amid the broader drama of pain,โ€ Shakespeare properly stated.

The harsh reality is that some days in a personโ€™s life are extremely tough to forget. The events of those days will be indelible in his memory since they were out of the norm. Such days are frequently pivotal in changing the trajectory of his life. These days could be joyous or sad.

Iโ€™m having a hard time forgetting the 30th of November, 2018, which was the saddest day of my life. The memory of that day still gives me chills. Life appeared to have conspired against me. I had completed the M. A. (Final) Exam. We were anxiously awaiting the outcome. I had not done well on the papers, but I hoped to pass.

The day began on a sad tone. The results have been announced. My name was not among the successful candidates, much to my surprise and regret. My failure came as a huge surprise to my ailing father, mother, and older brother.

As if the shock of my failure and the deteriorating of my fatherโ€™s illness werenโ€™t enough, another tragedy occurred. On the same evening, another mishap occurred. My older brother, the familyโ€™s sole breadwinner, was accused with embezzlement and misappropriation of funds. He was employed as a cashier at SBI. He was unjustly discharged from the military.

This came as a huge surprise. All of this was too much for my father. He couldnโ€™t imagine the fate of his family without him. He began to sink and died suddenly of a heart attack.

We were already struggling to make ends meet. These occurrences threw my family into complete darkness. My familyโ€™s life has been a protracted saga of futile effort and excessive hard work since that day. We have yet to overcome adversity and think that misfortune never comes alone.
