When you resolve a problem, it means that youย find the answerย and is commonly used when weโ€™re talking about problems between people.ย  Itโ€™s often used with the words โ€˜disputeโ€™, โ€˜crisisโ€™ and โ€˜differencesโ€™ and is quite common in personnel management, since one of the roles of human resources is to help people work positively in teams. The word โ€˜resolveโ€™ is also used when the situation is made more clear โ€“ in other words, โ€˜the ambiguity has been resolvedโ€™. The noun is โ€˜resolutionโ€™. So โ€˜the resolution of a conflictโ€™ is an agreement which ends the disagreement or fighting. The word โ€˜resolutionโ€™ is also used for decisions made by organisations such as the United Nations that some actions need to be taken to resolve some problem.
