A parameter is a limit or a feature of a system that controls others and can be adjusted. Like ‘paradigm’, this is one of the hardest words in this list. Most ordinary people wouldn’t understand the word. You’ll come across it mostly when you read about research or theories. Normally, before starting on a research project, you have to set parameters. In other words, you need to limit the area of your research, so that you can concentrate on getting good results.
