Intolerance may be surging in the society, but it's been around for centuries. Tolerance is not an inborn capacity of a person . It is learnt in the social milieu . Our media ( may be sometimes with some agenda) and the way we educate our people these days is the main cause why the people are mostly intolerable. According to UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay, “Tolerance is an act of humanity, which we must nurture and enact each in our own lives every day, to rejoice in the diversity that makes us strong and the values that bring us together” (UNESCO 1996).
